Powers & Sons “I Want To Be A teacher” Scholarship

One or more $5,000-$10,000 scholarships to a current employee of color, who has some college credit and is pursuing a Bachelors in Education. Applicant Criteria:

Applicants must:

• Be a current permanent employee in MSD Wayne Township and have worked in Wayne for at least one full year.
• Have at least 60 college credits completed.
• Be a person of color.
• Only students who have applied to attend college may apply. Even if you haven’t been “accepted” yet, you may still apply, but you will need to provide your letter of acceptance to actually receive the funding.
• Receipt of any award money is contingent upon enrollment in a Bachelors in Education program. If award money is received and only if you are hired by MSD Wayne, you agree to work in MSD Wayne Township for each year a scholarship is awarded. If you can’t complete the program within five years and/or leave the employment of MSD Wayne Township prior to completing the degree or the previously noted employment commitment, you agree to pay back all of the scholarship funds received.

• Transcript of Grades from all Collegiate Institutions
• One Letter of Recommendation
• Resume
• To receive the actual award, a letter of acceptance will be required.
