Support WTEF by Honoring an Educator

If you’re looking for a perfect teacher gift before the end of the school year, then look no further!

For the 17th straight year, the Wayne Township Education Foundation is sponsoring the Honor an Educator Program. Your student may honor any educator, bus driver, principal, secretary, or any other staff member by making a minimum contribution of $10 to the Wayne Township Education Foundation.

For your contribution, we will send your honored educator a congratulatory note. The note will wish the educator congratulations and explain to him or her that a contribution has been made in his or her honor by you.

Earlier this school year, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, WTEF sponsored the Light-a-Lantern Program to honor educators in Wayne. Ben Davis High School teacher Tom Hayes, who was honored as part of that program, said it is meaningful when students and parents pay tribute to educators.

“Being recognized by former students and their parents is a great reminder of the community feel of teaching,” Mr. Hayes said. “It is special to know people remember you years after you had daily interaction with them. It is a great reminder of the impact teachers have.”

Contributions to the Honor an Educator Program will assist the Foundation in fulfilling its mission by increasing funding for grants for educational projects and programs beyond the normal classroom curriculum.
