The dragon is back in town! Well… not really. That’s the story a ragtag band of innkeepers makes up, desperate to draw questing heroes to the struggling Dancing Dragon Inn. Soon the inn is full of unexpected guests, from an army of princesses out to prove their bravery, to a group of overwhelmed heroes trying to hold onto their fame. But what happens if they all discover the innkeepers’ dragon story is made up? Could there be more than one way to save the day? An epic folk-rock score brings magic to this funny, heartfelt fantasy musical. Campers will audition for roles, rehearse lines, gather costumes, paint sets, and perform, all in one fun-filled week!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Based on Kenneth Grahame's beloved dragon classic, the inspiration for blockbuster movies, books and TV shows comes to our stage! Widget and his pal Hairytoes discover a dragon lurking a cave. Their secret is exposed by neighborhood bullies, the Grody Gobsters. Suddenly the entire town is whipped into a fury and the cry goes up: "The Dragon Must be Slayed” King Fancy Pants summons the Great Saint George to do the deed! The only problem is, Mortimer the dragon is friendly. Our heroes love him and are desperate to save his life. So they travel to the Master Guru on the Mountain, who teaches them how to train their dragon for battle. Loveable Mortimer learns to put on a great show for the Villagers. Campers will audition for roles, rehearse lines, gather costumes, paint sets, and perform, all in one fun-filled week!

In 2008, WTCT introduced Kids Summer Theatre Camps as a way to provide theatre enrichment following a highly successful production of Honk Jr. which featured over 50 area children. The program has grown to offer camps during Summer, Fall, and Spring breaks and has proven a vital part of WTCT and the community. Each camp is led by a teaching artist, blending instructional and performance opportunities which develop skills that will last a lifetime.
