July 2025

The three newest members of the Wayne Township Education Foundation Board of Directors are looking forward to making a difference with their service.

Jordan Whitt, LaNette Boone, and Joa'Quinn Griffin bring unique employment and community experiences to the board as they begin their terms. Below is a look at the background of each of these individuals, along with their thoughts on what they hope to achieve as board members.

Jordan Whitt

“I bring a strategic marketing mindset backed by more than 15 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, brand development, and fundraising campaign execution,” Jordan said. His accomplishments include leading national giving initiatives at the Presbyterian Mission Agency and overseeing the multi-channel communications strategy for Pension Fund of the Christian Church. Through both nonprofit and volunteer roles, including his longtime service with the American Red Cross of Indiana, Jordan says he has “consistently found ways to elevate messaging, foster community connection, and drive tangible results that support meaningful causes.”

The son of a firefighter and EMT, Jordan has a commitment to service that has continued into his adult life. He became certified as both a firefighter and EMT before graduating high school.

Jordan is a long-time resident of Wayne Township, and he and his wife Jennifer have two children currently attending school in the district.

“Joining the WTEF board offers an opportunity to further support the educational outcomes of students in our community by helping secure the resources and partnerships necessary for them to thrive,” he said. “I’m especially passionate about leveraging my marketing and communications experience to help tell the powerful stories of student impact and inspire broader community support — which seems especially urgent in a time when many of the loudest voices are advocating to reduce funding for public schools and their essential programs.”

LaNette Boone

LaNette brings experience as a data and reporting analyst for CNO Financial Group. She hopes to raise awareness of WTEF’s mission with those she works with and others.

“I bring a wide network of supporters through my sorority and community involvement, which can help expand awareness and engagement,” LaNette said. “I also see opportunities for collaboration with my employer. My strong connections, dedication to service, and ability to build partnerships uniquely position me to support and advance the foundation’s mission.”

LaNette holds a degree in computer Information technology and is completing her master’s in business administration. Her work as a data and reporting analyst has helped her understand strategy and data-driven decision making. Her two daughters attend MSD of Wayne Township schools.

“It is my mission to enhance life for families, and joining the Wayne Township Education Foundation board aligns with that purpose,” LaNette said. “I am a strong advocate for education and deeply believe in the importance of supporting both our educators and students. I’m eager to contribute my time, voice, and experience to help strengthen our community through meaningful educational support.”

Joa'Quinn Griffin

Joa’Quinn is a graduate of Ben Davis High School, where he immersed himself in a wide range of activities. He is looking forward to giving back to the school district that he says did great things for him.

“I am deeply passionate about service and giving back to the community,” Joa’Quinn said. “Wayne has poured so much into me, and I’m eager to pay it forward. I believe my experience and skills in the nonprofit sector can meaningfully contribute to the important work being done for students and educators across the Wayne Township district.”

Joa’Quinn is director of development for the Indiana University School of Nursing. He is also a certified nonprofit professional through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.

“I bring a strong understanding of the operational foundations that drive mission-based organizations,” Joa’Quinn said. “I also bring a natural spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that can help advance the organization’s mission in meaningful ways.”
