Image for tax credits

September 2024

The Wayne Township Education Foundation is providing a unique way for its supporters to earn tax credits when they donate to the organization.

Donors who make an unrestricted contribution to WTEF of at least $500 can receive a credit for their Indiana taxes worth 50 percent of their contribution. A $500 donation receives a $250 Indiana tax credit; a $1,000 donation produces a $500 credit.

“Our foundation has been approved by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority to award Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Credits,” said Lisa Baize, executive director of WTEF. “This means we can give Indiana state tax credits for personal donations of more than $500 between July 1 and December 31, while they last. We have just over $9,900 in tax credits to award this year.”

Donations to WTEF fund a wide variety of grants that bring innovative teacher ideas to life in Wayne’s classrooms and joy to learning for students.

“Our grants have funded an educational horticulture garden, books and more books, building and engineering tools, coding robots, drums and ukuleles for music classrooms, and much more,” said Mrs. Baize. “The generosity of our donors is at the heart of what makes these grants possible. So we’re really pleased to be able to provide these tax credits as a further incentive for our supporters.”
