Community Raises $19,000 to Support WTEF

Our “Giving Tuesday the We Are Wayne Way” campaign was a huge success!

From November 29 through December 2, 550 supporters donated $19,000 through the campaign. These funds will be used to help create and support exceptional student experiences throughout the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township.

“The MSD of Wayne Township motto – ‘We Are Wayne: Great Schools/Great Community’ – was never truer than during this week of giving,” said Wayne Township Education Foundation Executive Director Lisa Baize. “WTEF is proud to have provided the leadership for our community and staff that was the catalyst for this outpouring of support for our schools.”

The monies raised will help fund STEM programs, physical education equipment, musical instruments, after-school club supplies, an international festival, multicultural books, and much more.

For the second year in a row, Stout Field Elementary won the competition among schools for the greatest number of donors. For achieving the greatest level of engagement, Stout Field will receive an additional $1,000 to purchase a kiln for its art students.

“Our Giving Tuesday campaign will benefit students throughout MSD Wayne,” said Mrs. Baize. “We couldn’t be more grateful to our schools and community for making this effort so tremendously successful.”
